Dear team-mates,
On Wednesday we are facing the team of San Severo. This team (macma – ulong_ch – agngio – 1724) is quite good. In fact, they lead our group for sometime and now they come third, according to the scoring so far. The pair macma – ulong seems to be playing using a version of SAYC. Their losses in the past two matches were mainly due to overbidding that was cleverly doubled by their opponents. The other pair, agngio – 1724 have been using an artificial, strong 1C bidding system.They seem to be more effective in finding slams, however seem to be weak in games and part-scores, where opponent’s over-calling occurs. Last Wednesday, they lost to the team of Kuopio by a margin of -32 IMPs, a team that we managed to beat.
A reason to rejoice, this is the scoreboard in our group so far:
We need to be a bit careful with the team of San Severo. Macma will be our host. Bear in mind that our opponents may not speak English very well and if they employ some artificial system, it can be a bit daunting to communicate at the table. I will attempt to give you every possible information before the match starts.
